Product Review

  • Almost perfect shoe

I am a cross country and track runner. I like a shoe with plenty of cushioning for high mileage, but not too much cushioning to where the shoe feels slow, heavy, squishy, or bulky. The Ride 9 fits the bill! It is a huge inmpovement over the Ride 8. Not only do they look pretty, but they feel good, too. I love the EVERRUN technology. Lightweight, springy, and responsive, yet comfortable. A rare type type of shoe to come by nowadays. I am a midfoot striker, so the 8mm offset is perfect for me. It is pretty flexible, although I would not mind a little bit more flexibility so that I can get up on my toes and go. However, I do have one complaint that I noticed the moment I first tried on the shoes. The upper across the top of the foot feels awkward. The area on the top of the foot where the main part of the upper and the part that is undernear the laces are sown together is tight and irritating. I skipped the bottom eyelets, and that helped. The upper has loosened up and I have gotten used to the feeling after several runs, but this still could be improved. Overall, great shoe. I will definitely buy more. Keep up the great work, Saucony!
