Interview

What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Why?
Australian record over one mile. It is such a historic distance in this country, and no one female has gone faster!

What is your favorite Saucony shoe?
ProGrid Paramount 3 for training and warming up, Endorphin MD2 Spike for my races!.

What are your current goals?
A good 2011 domestic season and European campaign before gearing up to London 2012.

What is your favorite downtime activity?
Relaxing with family and friends.

Who do you look up to? Why?
Sarah Jamieson is an athlete who has been a great mentor throughout my career. While I have had the pleasure of racing (and beating!) her on a number of occasions, I have always admired for the way she trains and applies herself to the sport. Her results over such a long period speak for themselves.

Where is your favorite race location?
I’ve always really enjoyed the Noosa Bolt every year. As for the track side of things Olympic Park in Melbourne will always hold special memories because of the Australian record.

What keeps you going when you are about to give up?
Knowing that I am yet to get the best out of myself!

Complete the sentence: If I were stranded on an island, I could never be without….
My Saucony running shoes.

If you could no longer perform as an athlete, what would be your choice of career?
I’ve just completed my teaching degree so I suppose I’d have to go down that path!

If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?
Eliminate all injuries.

Cats or Dogs?
Dogs.
